Inspiration Healthcare Ltd, a Leicestershire based innovative healthcare provider and medical devices company has been delivering sucrose solutions to hospitals for the past seven years. Sucrose can be used to help calm and comfort stressed babies when they are undergoing painful procedures. Clearly understanding the need for developing easier and relatively simpler way of delivering sucrose to infants, Inspiration Healthcare has now launched a new Sucrose 24% delivery system which provides much needed benefits to its customers.
The new natural Sucrose 24% is designed and available in single patient twist-cap vials. These vials contain 1.5 ml of Sucrose 24% solution. Furthermore, the new Sucrose 24% is available with a 3 year shelf life from the date of manufacturing and is sterile packaged under the pharmaceutical good manufacturing process (GMP). It also presents no risk of bacterial growth and provides the distinct advantage of being preservative free.
Speaking on the benefits of this product, Nicola Reeves- Brown, the International Product Manager at Inspiration Healthcare Ltd, stated that "Apart from providing a simple and effective method of delivering sucrose solution to the infants, Sucrose 24% also reduces syringe costs and nursing time, as the vials once opened can be laid down by the cot-side for reapplication for up to 8 hours". She further added "sucrose is often given to infants as an analgesic during painful procedures but administering accurate doses and risk of infection always proved to be a problem. The new Sucrose 24% delivery system with single patient twist-cap vials provides an effective solution to this problem". Each patient vial is accurately graduated in 0.5 ml increments so that Sucrose 24% can be delivered correctly, drop-by-drop to the baby.
The new Sucrose 24% delivery system has a definite advantage in simplicity of design, transport and ease of use. It can be used in all areas of the hospital and community. It is ideal for use in newborn transfer as well as community setting and it minimizes the risk of damage and infection as the earlier traditional cups are easily split and damaged.
